Testing
Food Borne Bacteria to Prevent Illnesses
What do alfalfa sprouts, cantaloupe, ground
turkey, hamburger and eggs all have in
common? They have all been implicated as the
carriers responsible for spreading food
borne illnesses in the US within the last
year!
With serious food poisoning outbreaks on the
rise, the USDA is taking steps to protect
people from dangerous E. coli
infections. See link for more USDA
information:
usda.gov
In addition to the E. coli O157:H7,
the USDA is adding the following six
serotypes of E. coli to their "Zero
Tolerance List."
1. Escherichia coli O26
2. Escherichia coli O103
3. Escherichia coli O45
4. Escherichia coli O111
5. Escherichia coli O121
6. Escherichia coli O145
All E. coli serotypes on the "Zero
Tolerance List" will no longer be allowed in
the US food supply. If any of these
organisms are found in food, the USDA will
require a recall of the product, a timely
and expensive process.
ATS Labs can help you verify the efficacy of
your food contact sanitizers and hard
surface disinfectants against these specific
E. coli serotypes and numerous other
food borne pathogens. The following are the
specific bacterial strains that ATS Labs can
help you add to your antimicrobial product
