New, Now, and in the Know at ATS Labs
Clostridium difficile sporicidal testing
ATS Labs has the ability to perform
sporicidal efficacy testing to support EPA
claims against Clostridium difficile,
the organism known to cause serious illness
within hospital, nursing home, and other
healthcare environments.
Recently, the
EPA issued interim guidance on
acceptable test methods for supporting C.
difficile sporicidal claims for
sporicidal and disinfectant products.
For most disinfectant products, we believe
the Quantitative Disk Carrier Test Method
(ASTM 2197) is the most economical
method for developing C. difficile
sporicidal efficacy data. We recommend starting with a
one lot screening study to verify sporicidal
performance followed by a three lot GLP
study to support an EPA registration. For
your Clostridium difficle testing
